In an election where fear mongering has become a catalyst to persuade uninformed American voters and where it has also sparked a careless bedlam in some places of my home state in the U.S. I, a Mexican-American myself, born from migrant parents stand above this form of harassment. I, a successful American citizen stand in solidarity with anyone that has parents from a different country or has made their home in America from a different country. Come 2016, the citizens of America will stand together and vote with bravery and intelligence! For this land is NOT the land of the mindless and fearful. This land is the land of the brave and the home of the free.
In a country where telephone polls have evolved in to Wi-Fi hot spots we now have an infinite arsenal at our disposal. If used properly the World Wide Web is the best cure for fear-mongering, bullying, or simple lack of knowledge. It will also aid in the development of the understanding of the unknown in order to create a better conscious grasp on reality in order to help individuals realize whats at the core of their fears. Which in turn will breed bravery against those fears. All it takes is some research and time.
No one living in America that has a Smartphone or Internet access should be living in fear. No one living in America that has helpful knowledge or information should keep the knowledge to himself or herself, especially if that knowledge can ease someone’s uncertainty, mental pain, or fear. Knowledge; is meant to be shared exponentially in order to help progress our planet and humanity as a whole. I leave you with these words from my dear friend Yoda, “Fear is the path to the dark side. fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. So please read, educate your mind and inform your life.
