Being a mother is one of the most challenging jobs in the world. Like the video says, you never get breaks, you work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and you don’t get lunch breaks. Oh yeah, and you don’t get paid.
Your mom loves you more than anything in the world, and she loves you to the best of her ability. She changed your diapers, stayed up with you while you were sick and nursed you back to health. She may have worked, and was exhausted at the end of the day but still managed to get you into bed and kiss you goodnight. She created you, kept you alive until you were old enough to do it on your own. And whether you want to believe it or not, she taught you so many things about life, love and everything in between.
She lost sleep (and sanity) while you were an infant, making sure you were comfortable and happy, feeding you in the middle of the night and making sure all of your needs were met. As you grew older, she let you go out into the world, let you make your own choices and decisions. She pissed you off, set rules and boundaries that you didn’t understand. You may have fought, words may have been shared that you wish you could take back. But she forgave you, because you are her child. She would give up the clothes on her back if that’s what was required to keep you safe and healthy. And what for? Simple; love. Love is the motivation for all mothers out there.
I feel that until you have kids, you can’t fully understand how your mom loves you. It is a love that fills her completely, down to her bones and in her soul that she will carry with her to her grave. She isn’t perfect, she never will be, but she’s perfect to you in her own way. She makes mistakes just like us all. But she has your best interest at heart. Moms are amazing. So on this Mother’s Day, do something special to show her how much you appreciate her for bringing you into this world and helping you turn into the wonderful person that you are today.
