Bioware Cancels “Shadow Realms”

In a bit of sad news, game studio Bioware has announced the cancellation of its newest title, Shadow Realms. In an open letter to the fans, Bioware Austin GM Jeff Hickman addressed the cancellation which has come about as a result of the studio simply being too busy with work on the next game in the Mass Effect series as well as continuing support for Dragon Age: Inquisition and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Shadow Realms had been teased for quite some time and was finally revealed at Gamescom 2014 and had progressed far enough that Bioware had even been preparing for an Closed Alpha demo before the deciding to focus its efforts elsewhere. The multiplayer game revolved around four players versus one and was similar in play style as the upcoming Evolve but with more of a fantasy angle. Hopefully someday when Bioware has more free time we’ll see Shadow Realms reborn but for now all we have is speculation on all that could have been.
