Body Shamers: I do not get you. I do not understand the way you think. I do not understand shaming the “flaws” of others as if you don’t have any. I also cannot comprehend why you get to decide what someone’s flaws are. (Queen of England syndrome much?) What if I like that I have love handles? What if I like that my boobs are actually an A cup beneath my Vicki’s Secret bombshell pushup? What if I like that I do not look anything like what has seem to become the ideal figure of beauty in American culture? I’m not tall, I’m not thin, I don’t have model like flowy hair, I certainly do not have perfect C cups that gravity seems not to affect along with a perfect ass.
Hello? Anyone out there? Is this real life? For all of my ladies who DO fit that description and for all of their Ken-like counterparts, kudos to you. I am not shaming you, you are beautiful, just as everyone is in their own right and way. We are all unique, in every sense of the word, from our minds, our sense of style, body types and family backgrounds.
Oh America… we are quite a society. We call ourselves the melting pot of the world but instead of embracing all the differences we possess we are constantly trying to press everyone into the mold that the internet, Instagram, magazines, and celebrities have told us we should fit into. Hmmmm We the people, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity
do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America do body shame our citizens, do criticize our citizens for wearing too much makeup, wearing too little, dressing like a slut, dressing like a prude, wearing extensions, being bald, expressing ourselves in a way the masses do not find acceptable.
Oh yeah, WE, America, land of the free, America the beautiful, we do not like individuality. Get in line and blend in or be ostracized for your bravery.
I’m thinking perhaps America, we should reconsider our vantage point on a few things.
Enjoy your stay!
Food. For. Thought.
