Exotic Drinks Recipe: Rosie for some Green Tea

Hey lovers! Are you down in the dumps with that summertime sadness? Are you sick of the same old summer teas and running out of money for Starbucks?  Have no fear, for these exotic cheap refreshers are here: Rose Lassi and Green Tea Latte!

Rose Lassi

1-1½ cups plain yogurt (or vanilla)

1/3 cup fine cane sugar

2 teaspoons pure rose water (or more depending on concentration)

1 cup ice cubes

Place all ingredients in the blender. Blend until desired consistency. Add a little bit of cold water if you want to thin the drink a little bit. Pour in an iced cup, and garnish with rose petals and cardamom powder if desired.

I know, I know. This first one sounds like something you might wear as a perfume, but I promise you that it’s really delicious. Rose-infused drinks have been a delicacy in India for hundreds of years.

Iced Green Tea Latte

1-1½ cup of Milk

2 teaspoons of Honey (or any sugar/sweetener)

1-2 teaspoons Green Tea Matcha Powder

Half glass of Ice (optional)

Take Matcha and add a little water to turn it into a little paste. Blend this with the rest of the ingredients and serve with ice.

I love my Starbucks iced green tea latte, but I love my friend even more for this money-saving recipe. She showed me the matcha powder at a local pan-Asian supermarket. This is a yummy alternative to the classic green tea and can even be served hot for winter. Enjoy your summer with these two exotic drinks!
