Don’t feel like going to the gym? Have a glass of wine! Seriously, it’s good for you!
The Latin Times recently reported that researchers from the University of Alberta in Canada found that having one glass of red wine was as beneficial as a workout at the gym. They found that red wine, along with nuts and grapes, has a complex called resveratrol which improves muscle, heart, and bone function; which is really the reason why you go to the gym. The scientists have tested the effects of resveratrol on rodents and will be looking at the effect on diabetics next.
While the findings of this study can be cause for celebration, this doesn’t the benefits only come from one single glass. Over indulging could lead to new health problems.
Red wine has also been found to have many other benefits including cholesterol, colon cancer, brain health. While nothing can truly substitute a good workout at the gym, you won’t have to feel so guilty about skipping out on cardio while you sip on a glass of Merlot.
