How to turn a bad day into a good one

We have those days where everything just goes miserably wrong. You wake up late, you made a horrible mistake at work, you forget our wallet at home, you miss a n important meeting, etc. We can not control many circumstances that happen in our lives. A lot of times, outside forces changes the fate of our day. Someone hits your car, you got a bad grade on our research paper, you’re stuck in traffic, you have an argument with a friend, you have to deal with an angry customer, your boss yells at mad at you, the list goes on. We can not control everything in our lives but we we can control our reactions. Here are 5 ways you can turn a bad day into a good one.

  1. Take a moment and breathe.

Before you start blaming whoever or whatever is making your day bad, take a moment to breathe. Exhale all the anger, stress, and worry from your body and reset. Take a moment to realize your bad circumstance is in the past and there is nothing you can do about it. Getting angry isn’t going to change what just happened. Find a way to move forward.

  1. Do not tell yourself you’re having a bad day

Letting those circumstances get to you by saying you’re having a bad day will just allow to get worse.  Negative thoughts lead to negative reactions. You never know what might happen later in the day. One bad circumstance shouldn’t ruin your whole day. Keep your mind open to positivity and your day will definitely get better.

  1. Do something fun.

After you’re done with all your responsibilities, it’s not a crime to do something for yourself for a change. After witnessing a bad day, make your day good by doing something fun. Go get ice cream, hang out with friends, netflicks and chill, or go to a club and dance the night away. Just do something you enjoy.

  1. Talk about it.

Many of us do not have the ability to hold in our feelings. If you’re having a bad day, talk about it with a good friend. Pick someone who is willing to just listen, they do not need to give you advice but just listen. Talking about your feelings with someone will give you self-realization whether you get advice from them or not.

  1. Sleep it off

It can be very exhausting trying to play catch up when you’re day isn’t going the way you planned it to be. When the day is over and you feel like there’s nothing that can change your bad day, just have a good nights rest and start off fresh tomorrow. Tomorrow is a new day!
