You don’t need to spend a lot to plan a fantastic date but if you wanted this article can help you too. As Valentine’s Day approaches, the pressure of planning a perfect date with your special someone begins to grow. Fortunately, I have come up with a few ideas for everyone, with a variety of different price ranges. Let’s begin!
20 Dollars or Less
This range doesn’t seem realistic to many, but honestly when you are about to spend less than $20 dollars on a date, most of the time your date knows that money is tight or the budget doesn’t include extravagant dates because of more important priorities. That still doesn’t mean your date should suck.
Stargazer’s Delight– If you happen to live near an area with amazing views of the sky at night, stargazing is a really great date. You can grab food to go from the closest fast food joint and take a ride to your secret spot in the city, hills, or spot by the beach. Bring a blanket, a cheap bottle of wine, and some tunes. It will be very romantic.
Netflix Marathon– Grab some popcorn or make an Italian dinner as you bond over a new TV series together. I’ve known plenty of couples who didn’t seem to have too much in common at first, but as their relationship carries on, they tend to have similar tastes in movies or end up watching the same shows.
Long walks- Just like the first suggestion, this kind of date requires good conversational skills. Whether you are walking through an art gallery, the beach, or through central park, the art of conversation is not dead. People still enjoy nature, art, and human interaction in its most basic form.
When we think of a typical date, we think of this price range. It’s the kind of date you can’t expect to do every single week but maybe once or twice a month because the money spent will definitely add up.
Dinner and Dancing- This one will be an all-around display of your skills. It will also show your date a little bit about your self based on the choices you make on a night like this. First, you have to pick your restaurant. This could be easy if you figure out what your date wants to eat, or you can be bold and adventurous by trying something new and exotic. Either way, Yelp is the answer. After you’re done yelping your restaurant, you may want to look for a place to dance too. The restaurant could have both but I think it’s best to jump locations and pick a place where dancing is the focus. Find out what kind of music she likes and choose accordingly. The night can get pricey depending on the places you choose but if you got good taste and smooth moves, show it off.
Let’s Be Kids Again- Sometimes you just want to relive your childhood. There are many places that totally tap into our nine year old selves. You can go mini golfing, go-kart racing, paint pottery, or throw all that out the window and go to Disneyland/Disney World. These are definitely my choices because I am a huge Disney fan and no matter how old you are, 99 percent of the population will love to be taken to the “Happiest Place on Earth”. Check out a couple of rides, eat at one of the awesome restaurants, buy a some dole whip, and make sure you watch the fireworks show.
Adrenaline Junkies- Wake up, take a few hours out of the city and experience an adrenaline rush. There are many places to go if you want to prove you got a pair. Snowboarding/skiing and surfing seem like ideal activities to try while the bolder may want to skydive, or rent a exotic car like a Lamborghini and see what it can do. Whatever you can think of, it exists, just Google it.
What Should I Do With All This Money?
For the CEO’s and wealthy businessmen out there, money is no object. The following list of activities will cost way too much for us regular humans to try.
The Real Deal- The closest I ever got to checking out the Statue of Liberty, The Ancient Pyramids, or the Eiffel Tower was on the strip in Las Vegas. For the money makers our there, grab that lucky date of yours, hope on a jet, and take a spontaneous trip to one of these fun destinations. If I had to choose a trip for a day, I would probably check out Italy. Lot’s of old buildings, amazing art, and even though Italian food is already great, it’s probably even better in Italy.
No-Limit Adrenaline Junkies- Remember when I brought up the whole “whatever you can think of it, exists”? Well it does, if your willing to pay for it. A few ideas are swimming with the sharks, checking out active volcanoes, running with the bulls, or going on a Wildlife Safari. Not for the faint of heart, definitely for those with deep pockets.
Once in a lifetime experience- If you want your date to remember the night forever, this one’s for you. Any of these date ideas can be turned into a once in a lifetime experience. With the help of John Legend singing at the restaurant you just bought out, Tiger Woods taking you out on the links, or Tom Cruise to tell you about Scientology over a cup of coffee, your date will remember you in this life and the next. Here’s what it’ll cost you.
