How’d you like to visit all 50 states? Chris Strub is hoping to do just that — in only 100 days.
Armed with a GoPro, a selfie stick, an iPhone 5S and surprisingly little else, Chris, 29, is spending this summer cruising the highways of America. Travelers in the Southeast may have already spotted the native New Yorker in his tan Honda Accord, with a ‘50 STATES OR BUST’ decal stretched across the rear windshield.
At first glance, the car appears vandalized — all sorts of colorful handwriting adorning much of the exterior. But it’s far from graffiti: in each state, Chris is visiting a different youth organization, and before Chris departs, the staff is asked to inscribe onto the car their favorite piece of advice for a young person.
“Trust your crazy ideas” was added in Oklahoma City. “Your attitude determines your altitude” came from Jackson, Miss. An urban farming organization in Montgomery urges readers to “Plant Hope, Fail Better, Dig Deeper.” (The news in Springfield, Mo., talks about his car here: http://www.ozarksfirst.com/

Just twelve states in, there’s plenty of space left on his car — and plenty of excitement left in his journey. This week, Chris is visiting youth organizations in Texas (Monday), New Mexico (Wednesday) and Arizona (Friday), before heading to Los Angeles this weekend. The adventure extends to Alaska and Hawaii by the end of June, and Chris’s social media channels allow you to join him every step of the way: he’s constantly updating Facebook (Facebook.com/TeamStrub), plus Instagram, Twitter and Meerkat (@ChrisStrub). He uses SnapChat (@ChrisStrub) to conduct quick interviews at each org, supplemented by longer chats hosted on his YouTube (@ChrisStrub).
And how exactly is Chris funding this adventure? With no official sponsors, his Indiegogo page —https://www.indiegogo.com/
