Do you ever find yourself pining over celebrity bodies and wishing that you could look the same? Is that even possible? Perhaps. But we have to be realistic with the bodies we can obtain and the ones we were already given. Many of us would like to get in shape but it is difficult to figure out where to start. Eat healthy, check. Go to the gym, check. But what if you’re still not getting the results you want. The very first step to getting in shape is setting realistic goals for yourself. Looking up celebrities who are the same height as you and comparing weight is not going to cut it. You can find several different weights listed on different internet sites for the same celebrity so the internet is hardly a reliable source.
We have to recognize that we are not celebrities, we are regular people who don’t have access to a lot of the things that celebrities do. For example, personal trainers, chefs, and body coaches. We have ourselves, the grocery market, and our will. But that can be enough! We have to appreciate our bodies for what they are and set goals we can actually reach. Is losing 50 lbs in a month a realistic goal? Probably not. How about 10 lbs in a month. It is more important to look in the mirror and appreciate your body than to set goals you won’t be able to reach and disappoint yourself. So that is the first step to getting in shape and to getting healthy. Know yourself first.
