The Road to Lebron’s 3rd Ring

Game 7 of the NBA Finals resulted in one of the biggest upsets in history. For the Cavaliers and the city of Cleveland, the dry spell of winning a title has ended, with LeBron James as their hero. This year’s finals series has been extremely rocky, especially being matched up with a Golden State Warriors team that went 73-9 during the regular season. After losings the first 2 games back-to-back and trailing the series 3-1, it was a long road for the Cavaliers. They would eventually win game 5 and 6, forcing the inevitable game 7, which has been one of the most spectacular performances of NBA history. His heroism did not just remain in Cleveland, but has spread throughout the nation. He has earned the respect of many NBA fans, NBA fans that have been bipolar with his following and have frowned upon his career choices in the past 6 years.

Who remembers when Cleveland fans burned his jersey? LeBron gained a massive amount of infamy in 2010 when he made the choice to move to Miami in search of a title, thinking he wouldn’t be able to accomplish such a thing in his current town. He was perceived into what seemed to be the villain of the NBA for the next 4 years. Eventually, through all of the hate, all of the pressure, and all of the talk surrounding him, he would complete his mission to earn his rings in 2012 and 2013. After the 2013-2014 season, he decided to go back home in Cleveland. This was a brave and noble decision, as he not only came back to the people that resented him the most, but he had to deliver results, results such as winning a title for his hometown. With the upcoming Steph Curry and widely popular Warriors club, the odds were against his favor again, with many in disbelief he could win another title with Cleveland. Well, game 7 of the 2016 finals has ended, and look what has happened now.

All of us should try to examine LeBron as a person. He has goals and desires to do great things such as us, correct? So why constantly judge him or any other person for what they want in life? He should be respected for the things that he has done. Through all the adversity he still managed to accomplish his goals, and we should be able to take something from that. Thank you LeBron for your amazing performance, and thank you to the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers for an exciting series.
