“Captain America: Civil War” Trailer Promises Explosions and Hurt Feelings

In what’s shaping up to be Avengers: 2.5, as it features everyone except for Thor and Hulk, Captain America: Civil War looks to be a promising shake-up for the Marvel formula. There are no super villains, just superheroes against other superheroes.

The trailers opens with the same scene that closed out Ant-Man, as Captain America and the Falcon interrogate a captured old friend: the Winter Soldier, also known as Bucky Barnes, Cap’s childhood friend. Turns out the once-brainwashed Barnes has turned a corner and is no longer wanting to live the super assassin life but it would appear some people aren’t willing to forgive. Cut to Captain taking out a group of heavily armed individuals so Bucky can escape. Not everyone is pleased with this and the old “Who watches the watchmen?” adage comes into play as we see people begin to question the amount of power given to men like Captain America. The fight between Captain America and Iron Man has been building since they met in the first Avengers movie and Civil War looks to be delivering that with no small amount of emotional heft. If all that makes no sense to you then there’s probably a wiki page somewhere that can better explain who everyone is and why everyone is so upset. Captain America: Civil War is out May 6th, 2016.
