Marvel’s “Daredevil” Fights Its Way Onto Netflix

Marvel is pretty well established by this point and seems to be able to do no wrong; risks like Guardians of the Galaxy and animated family fare like Big Hero 6 have resulted in both critical and financial successes. The comic company’s forays into television with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter have also proved popular and now Marvel is looking to team up with Netflix to bring back their hero Daredevil to the spotlight (the less said about the 2003 Ben Affleck flop the better). The first trailer reveals our first good look at titular blind hero, lawyer Matt Murdock by day and bad-guy fighting vigilante by night, played by Charlie Cox (The Theory of Everything, Boardwalk Empire). Daredevil looks to be bringing a grittiness that has largely been missing in most of Marvel’s on-screen world and with Netflix’s track record with House of Cards and Orange is the New Black the promise is quite high for this series. The entire series will be available for binge watching on April 10th.
